Stamp Duty Land Tax

On the 3 September 2008 the Government introduced new thresholds which meant that if you bought a property and the purchase price is £175,000 or less then you don't have to pay any Stamp Duty Land Tax.

You would still be liable for Stamp Duty Land Tax if the property purchase price was above £175,001.

This alteration is due to end on 31 December 2009 whereby you will soon have to pay Stamp Duty Land Tax again from 1 January 2010

.

Further information is available on the Directgov website.
